What are you reading this Summer?

I don’t know about you, but my reading tastes vary with the seasons–through the Fall and Winter, life is hectic and fast-paced, and I must have page-turners.  The length of a book is irrelevant, it’s the pacing that determines whether or not a book is a quick read; so, when I’m busy, I enjoy thrillers that are plot-driven and draw you in quickly.  In the Summer, however, life becomes a little more leisurely, and I find that I enjoy character-centered novels that are more descriptive in style.  I can get lost in the book’s setting and the more thought-provoking plots and relationships.

Summer is just around the corner, as is our Adult Summer Reading Program.  We’d like to know what your reading style is, and any titles you’d like to recommend to others in our community.  Who are your favorite authors?  What are some books that have impacted you the most?  Feel free to comment on this blog, and we will share it with other readers.

A famous librarian once said, “Never apologize for your reading tastes.”  If you love a book, chances are there are others out there who would love it too.  So share it with us!

I am reading Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole.

I just started reading it, but my husband says it is a wonderful book. Has anybody read it?
